OK, let's have some fun. The planning committee
for this artist-in-residence thought it would be great to create the
Lakeshore school mascot as one of the projects. It fits with the overall
theme because the school mascot is a flying lion.
The original plan was for all the teachers and
staff to stop by during the day to add a few pieces of paper to the lion.
But, with schedule constraints and such, it soon became obvious that wasn't
going to happen. Luckily, the 4th grade students were up to the task of
helping out. We did get a bit of help from faculty and staff, too.
Big, Big thanks to art instructor Maureen Mezera
for letting us 'trash' her room each week. Thanks also to retired art
teacher Carol Riedner for volunteering for a few weeks and doing such a
wonderful job. Thanks also to committee members Kris ('House of the Rising
Sun') McLain and Maggie Patton. And thanks to head custodian Peter Hoffman
for allowing a crazy papier mache' artist to do stuff like stack tables,
duck tape plastic everywhere and wire stuff to the ceiling.
Kathy Phillips, you are a human dynamo!!!
see ya later!
