ok,
i'm not sure how long it's gonna take to l..o..a..d
this page, but here are some pictures and comments from my time at
chilton high school (chilton, wisconsin). i was there on march 2nd and
march 16th....
{top}
great piece, or what?
this
program featured large (well, fairly large) artist-created
armatures once again. for those of you who aren't familiar with my
artist-in-residence events, the large armatures present an opportunity
for a group of students to work together and get on each other's nerves
while trying to reach a common creative goal. (huh?) anyway,
students not working on the big stuff were creating individual
sculptures using the very same materials i use in the studio!! hey,
don't try this at home! if that wasn't enough, we also had one class
constructing large wall reliefs which was something new for me. very
interesting! kudos right here to krystal kraemer, art instructor
extraordinaire. besides being upbeat and fun to work with, she had great
ideas for the wall relief projects.
so...
you've probably guessed, you can click on the images on the right to see
a bigger version.
on
this page...
The
two artist-created armatures were: running cat and running dog. the gals
working on the running cat are doing a fine job demonstrating
construction and conversation. fourth from the top shows their progress.
The
dog was substantially larger. the guys handled the challenge well;
negotiating the chaotic pile of newspaper strips...
...and
the dog takes shape.
