2nd graders are making a Chinese style dragon kite. The idea arose from a book they recently read as a class. The kite itself is very colorful, with a long flowing tail.

As an armature, this is probably the easiest one to accomplish. No real structural challenges here. I'm using fence wire again, with a few loops attached along the length of the piece to attachment of lines for hanging. I'm making the thing pretty long, it's over eight feet. I didn't get a good photo of the armature, sorry. For the kite's construction, I see no need to hang it while we're covering it (like we've done for the others), it should be easy enough to flip it over and do both sides when we're papering. Yeah, that's black plastic sheeting covering our work area.

My Thanks to 2nd grade teachers Gina Marchionda, Connie Wisner, Shellie Liebzeit and Marion Lancor.
